Buttermilk Neighborhood Park

06.13.13 Posted in NE by

Buttermilk Neighborhood Park is a Northeast Austin park at 7500 Blessing Avenue. It adjoins the St. John”s Community Center and Branch Library. There is a trail that runs along both sides of a waterway at one end of the park (part of it is paved and part is dirt); two out-and-backs yielded a quick, flat mile for me here this morning.

Many people were passing through this morning walking their children over to the community center (where one can park). There is also online casino a basketball court, playground, and many picnic tables here. Unfortunately every available surface, from those I just mentioned down to the boulders and sidewalks, is covered with graffiti, and not the artistic kind. It was a still a nice place to get some air before a busy day and see a beautiful partly cloudy sunrise.
